My name is Bec and I am a qualified Polestar Pilates Instructor providing Pilates classes in the beautiful town of Maleny. We've been running our classes since 2016 and our lovely group of participants also have regular social get togethers.

 

I run a variety of classes for anyone wishing to improve their posture, flexibility, upper and lower extremity strength, core stability and spine agility. My classes are suitable for beginner to advanced participants and I can cater for specific injuries, ailments or postpartum concerns. I also offer workshops on special topics throughout the year, including Pelvic Floor, Healthy Bones and Pilates Essentials.

I started Pilates 20 years ago, after an accident left me with a disc herniation, forcing me to stop running and playing sports. I instantly fell in love with the Pilates Method. Movement and breath suddenly made sense. I learnt to isolate individual muscles and I developed a strong core. I felt stronger than I ever had, even compared to when I was a nationally competitive gymnast as a youngster. After the birth of my third child, (and possibly due to a little boredom from maternity leave as a Chemistry Teacher) I decided to undertake my training to become an Instructor so I could share this love and passion with others.

 

In recent times, I have found that my Pilates training and experience has supported my surgery recovery, ongoing connective tissue disorder pain and joint instability and general aches and pains. Mind-body connection and control has been and will continue to be imperative to my overall health, all of which I maintain through regular Pilates practice.

 

I thoroughly enjoy teaching and I am loving being able to stay active, even with three kids in tow. I hope you can join me for a class some time. I know you will love the Pilates Method and our wonderful community of Pilates enthusiasts.
